The Passwerk Board of Directors has awarded the fourth Passwerk Lifetime Achievement Award (PLAA). This year's winner is Ilse Noens.
Ilse Noens is a professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, but also fulfils many roles with added social value. She has been involved in a variety of studies on autism and has published numerous works on the subject. A task force led by Ilse wrote the report 'Naar een autismevriendelijk Vlaanderen' (towards an autism-friendly Flanders) in 2016, which led to the Flemish Autism Action Plan in 2017.
Ilse has chaired the 'ICT Community for ASD' fund set up by Passwerk, within the King Baudouin Foundation, since its inception. This fund has financially supported dozens of projects that contribute to improving the living and working conditions of people with an autism spectrum profile. In addition to her scientific approach, Ilse also has a good feel for the goings-on in the work field. The combination is also highly appreciated by our Board of Directors and makes her an excellent laureate for this year's PLAA.
The celebration will take place in the autumn of 2020. She will also be presented with her certificate during this celebration.
