Looking back and looking ahead to 2023

Best wishes for 2023!

On behalf of Passwerk, we wish all our friends, clients and partners a Happy New Year! We hope everyone had a heartwarming time with their loved ones during this joyous time.

We are already excited about all the opportunities the new year will bring. We hope that 2023 may be a year of joy, happiness and success for everyone.

Below we take a brief look back at our achievements in 2022 and look ahead to our future plans for 2023.

Results of 2022

Growth in staff and revenue

This year we have already grown with a total of 29 new consultants. This includes the 7 SOC analysts working in cyber security.

Our revenue increased from a 9 million in 2021 to about 11.5 million in 2022.

Expansion of services SOC analysts

In September 2022, the first group of four SOC analysts finished their training. This training was compiled and organized in collaboration with Toreon/DPI, a specialized company in cybersecurity. In the meantime, the training of the second group of consultants has been completed.

Low-code

After the summer holidays, more than 50 consultants were trained in OutSystems, a low-code platform. About fifteen consultants who have followed this training will be deployed for low-code programming. This can be in OutSystems, but our consultants can also work with other low-code platforms.

Internal Academy

In consultation with our Board of Directors, it was decided to create an internal Academy for our consultants. Initially the focus will be on our training in cyber security and low-code, but in the future this will also address other trends, tehcnologies and practices within the market.

ICT Community for ASD

This year’s theme was “movement” and ten projects were selected by the jury from a record of 77 projects submitted. These ten projects received financial support totaling 66 435 euros.

Passwerk Lifetime Achievement Award

The sixth Passwerk Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Toon DeVriendt in 2022 for his years of service to both children and adults with autism. During a celebration, the official certificate was presented to Toon and his biography was distributed to guests at this celebration.

Passwerk Prize

The ninth Passwerk Prize was awardes to Hadewych Weyns and Robbe Decloedt for their master’s thesis “Perception of a Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder in Adolescents with Below Average Intellectual Abilities: a Qualitative Interview Study”. Both graduated with master’s degrees in medicine.

Visits

In 2022, we were visited by two ministers, specifically Petra De Sutter (January) and Karine Lalieux (June).

In September, we hosted the international meeting organized by Neurowrx (https://www.neurowrx.org/), a global organization that we co-founded and had representation on the Board of Directors for four years.

External participation

At the end of 2021, Passwerk became a shareholder of Lichtwerk (https://lichtwerk.io/en/)

Sponsor

This year we became a sponsor of the networking organization ADM. As of now, therefore, we sit on the Board of Directors of this organization.

Open days

In April, on the occasion of World Autism Day, open days were organized at our offices in Berchem and Roeselare. During various information sessions, people could learn about the various services offered by Passwerk. The open days were mainly intended for potential candidate employees.

Charity Golf Event

In early May, the third Charity Golf Event to benefit the ICT Community for ASD Fund took place. The weather gods were extremely kind to about forty participants. It was a beautiful day of golf that ended with a joint dinner. The proceeds for the fund amounted to 5,730 euros.

The future

Further growth

We hope to continue our growth in 2023 and will probably cross the two hundred consultants with autism mark. A growth in the number of software testers, software developers, business intelligence consultants and cyber security consultants is envisioned. As a matter of fact, in the latter field, especially cyber security, it is planned to recruit and train a dozen to 15 SOC analysts per year.

We continue to ensure that our growth is qualitative and sustainable.

Academy

Our Academy is continuing to take shape. Therefore, we hope to find a coordinator/coordinator for our Academy soon for its further development.

Marketing

At the end of 2022, we hired a communications and marketing specialist. Our intention in 2023 is to develop and flesh out our marketing plan.

ICT Community for ASD

The annual theme for 2023 is "empowerment. Projects can be submitted to the King Baudouin Foundation from the end of April 2023. In November, the jury will select from the submitted projects. The selected projects will receive financial support.

Passwerk Lifetime Achievement Award and Passwerk Prize

Also this year, a new laureate, already the seventh, will be elected by our board of directors. Also this year, and for the tenth time, a Passwork Prize will be awarded.

Charity Golf Event

Our fourth Charity Golf Event will take place in early May 2023. A final decision on this date will be made in the spring.

Celebrating 15-year anniversary

As of February 13, 2023, our company will be existing for 15 years. We want to celebrate this appropriately! On the one hand, a family day for all employees will be organized to The Efteling and on the other hand, a celebration, combined with the Passwerk Lifetime Achievement Award, will be organized in the fall.
